Getting Academic Advising

All new students are required to receive academic advising in their Faculties before attempting to register for courses. Continuing students can also consult with an Academic Advisor before registering each year.

Advisors will discuss with each undergraduate student his/her intended programme, guide the student through the registration process and help the student choose an appropriate combination of courses.

For graduate students, academic advising is provided by the Programme Coordinators, usually as group sessions.

You will hear more about this at the Faculty Orientation. Click here to find out more about Advisors: New Students | The University of the West Indies at Cave Hill, Barbados - Understanding the Academic Structure (uwi.edu).

If you have not received information on how to connect with an advisor or programme coordinator, contact your Faculty or Departmental Office.
