All new applicants to the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Sport who do not meet any of the exemption criteria must take this test. It can only be taken once and if you fail or do not take the test, and are not exempt, you will be required to take and pass ECON 0101 – Preliminary Mathematics for Social Sciences before registering for ECON 1003 – Maths for Social Sciences 1 or ECON 1005 – Introduction to Statistics. Unlike the ELPT, you have an opportunity to take this test after you have registered as a student.
